Sports Leaders is not just for those of you looking for a career in sports. It is a great qualification for those of you who would benefit from learning more about how to become a leader. Great for those of you who enjoy a more practical side to learning. It's a fun and interactive module which creates a sense of inclusion and excitement that gets you away from school and sitting at a desk.

Sports Leaders is a qualification designed to teach and develop an individual's leadership and life skills focusing on sport and physical activity. Within the course you will be focus on a balance of both practical and written work, which will aid you to gain qualities essential to becoming a successful leader.

One of the best parts of sports leaders is the qualities you gain and expand on. Within a year, you will be able to develop problem solving, time management and organisational skills which you can apply to and use in situations both in and out of school. This module also gives you a huge confidence boost, whether you are naturally shy or one of the loudest personalities in your year. It teaches you how to communicate and interact with groups of people outside of your peer groups and age, from primary school children to their teachers.

You will learn incredible teamwork skills - how to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and motivate them to work towards a bigger goal. This qualification prepares you for life, helping you to become a more capable version of yourself, in a short period of time.

As an individual who took part in Sports Leaders' Levels 1 and 3, I can say that one of the best outcomes from this course is the rewarding feeling you gain from getting to teach and share skills with younger students and watch them improve with your guidance. It creates a feeling of fulfilment and can overall increase your self- belief, not only in yourself but your abilities as a leader. Working with younger age students can be intimidating and a bit daunting but by applying courage to your actions, you will realise it is a great opportunity that can develop you as an individual.

On top of this, the qualification looks great on both your CV and personal statement, which can help with university, college and job applications. Being a sports leader shows that you are responsible and highly motivating, as well as someone not afraid to take initiative, making you unique from other candidates.

Sports Leaders is a fun and enjoyable experience and qualification whereby individuals learn to inspire others and become role models. It is more than leading and making positive decisions but also about becoming yourself as a confident individual.
